5 On the 25th, the kickoff meeting for the development of the national occupational standard for "Nonwoven Fabric Manufacturing Workers" was held in Foshan, Guangdong. Attending the meeting were Chen Lei, Director of the Standards Division of the National Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security and Director of the Standards Division at the Employment and Training Technical Guidance Center; Wang Jiuxin, Secretary of the Discipline Inspection Commission of the China National Textile and Apparel Council; leaders from the China National Nonwovens Industry Association; and 45 representatives from various enterprises. Ren Jianyong, Deputy General Manager and Director of Nobon Shares, attended the kickoff meeting on behalf of his company. Nobon participated in drafting the sections of the standard related to the wet-laid web-forming process.

The launch meeting for the “Standard” will officially begin at 2:00 p.m. During the meeting, Chen Lei, Director of the Standards Division, provided a detailed and engaging explanation of the “Technical Regulations for the Development of National Occupational Skill Standards” to the attending representatives, and also offered some constructive comments and suggestions on the development of the national occupational standard for “Nonwoven Fabric Manufacturing Workers.”
Hu Fang from the Industry Development Department of the China National Textile and Apparel Council, one of the drafters of the national occupational standard for “Nonwoven Fabric Manufacturing Workers,” convened the working group responsible for drafting the standard, along with relevant personnel, to conduct an in-depth and meticulous discussion on the draft standard. They reviewed the proposed basic framework structure of the national occupational standard for “Nonwoven Fabric Manufacturing Workers” and preliminarily finalized the standard’s structural outline. Participants also briefly discussed the preparation of related training materials following the standard’s release, as well as the assessment and scoring methods for nonwoven fabric manufacturing workers, thereby initially outlining the national occupational standard for nonwoven fabric manufacturing workers. Hu Fang also made brief arrangements for the next steps: First, the drafters will integrate the key content of the draft standard into the established structural framework to produce a preliminary draft, which will then be distributed to the relevant staff involved in standard development for revision and feedback. At the same time, a WeChat communication platform has been set up to facilitate ongoing discussions and collaboration on the standard’s development.

The convening of this conference is a tremendous boon for the vast number of professionals and researchers working in the nonwoven fabrics industry. It signifies that, in the near future, the nonwoven fabrics industry will also implement a system of professional qualification certificates, enabling workers in the nonwoven sector to have their own career advancement pathways. This development is of great significance for the growth of the nonwoven industry as well as for the cultivation of talent in this field.
